100 BETHLEN NAPTÁR JOHNSTOWN-WINDBER and VINTONDALE, PA Benedek József Chief Elders: Mr. Coleman Nagyvathy, Johnstown, Mr. Zoltán Antal, Vintondale, PA As in the past, we give thanks to our Lord for another year of harmonious cooperation in our congregations. Worship Services were held every Sunday morning, with the exception of one, due to inclement weather, in Johnstown. In Vintondale every second and fourth Sunday, and there also, with the exception of one Sunday, due to the weather. Communion was administered in both of our churches six times during the year — World Communion and New Wine being combined. Also, it was taken to our sick and shut-ins on each occasion. The Pastor visited the sick in the hospitals and in their homes. In our Johnstown congregation we had quite a busy year. This is the year we, our Windber Congregation and Johnstown Congregation merged and became one family. As a result of our merger we undertook the care of the Hungarian Reformed Cemetery located in Windber. Also, we did extensive repair and renovations on the exterior of our Johnstown Church and parsonage. The bells from the Windber Church were brought to Johnstown and mounted on a platform on the Church grounds in Johnstown and we now ring the smaller bell together with the bell in the Church steeple every Sunday morning. One of the special events in our Church life was the three hour combined Worship Service on Good Friday, with all of our West End Congregations These are the Windber Church bells mounted in the Johnstown-Windber Hungarian Reformed Church yard in Johnstown, PA
