The average attendance of Sunday worship services was 180 and the average number partaking of the Lord’s Supper was 224. In the Sunday School we have 100 enrolled in 12 classes with an administrative and teaching staff of twenty. 30 of our children had perfect attendance and received recognition for same, 10 of them for the fifth straight year. The average of family contributions was $103.72 and that of the individual confirmed member $57.92. The total income of the year was $24,000. We hold no “money-making” affairs. Our indebtedness is $65,000. Our congregational life was enriched by the work and fellowship of the following organizations: Women’s Club, Men’s Club, Youth Fellowship, Flower Committee, Adult and Children’s Choir, Boy Scout Troop and Explorer Post, and the Girl Scout Troop. Officers of the congregation include Elmer W. Shigo, chief Elder; Andrew Sapos and James Lewis, Elders; Joseph Voros, Treasurer; Joseph Toth, Auditor; Joseph Kallery, Secretary; and Charles Nagy, Jr., Recording of Offering. Members of the Church Council are: Frank Kottán, Jr., James Lewis, Daniel Ochiva, Elmer Shigo and Joseph Voros (1959), John P. Darnay, Ernest Kovach, Charles Nagy, Jr., Andrew Sapos (1960), John Estu, Joseph Kallery, Jules Nagy, Joseph Toth and Anrew Wargo (1961). In 1959 the congregation commemorated the fifth anniversary of the dedication of its new church and next year it will celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of the local church. The contribution of the congregation toward missions and benevolence is praiseworthy, the amount given to the Bethlen Home in 1959 was $1,000. The pastor and congregation have a very close and friendly relation to the other Protestant churches of the city. We actively participate in the union services and the jointly held released-time religious education program, which is headed by the pastor. Representatives of the Women’s Club, Men’s Club and Youth Fellowship, are among the leaders of the respective united organizations, officers of the United Church Women, Goodfellows Club, and United Christian Youth Movement. We try to be worthy representatives of the Hungarian Reformed Church among our fellow Christians. YOUNGTOWN, Ohio On April 19, 1959, this congregation formally entered the fellowship of the Hungarian Reformed Church In America. In the past year work continued at the usual pace. The pastor, Rev. Alexander Marton, reports that 12 baptisms, 3 con­firmations, 3 weddings and 7 funerals took place last year. The congregation of 196 families numbers 454 people. Income was $13,881.35. Building fund and organization treasuries total $13,421.28. Sunday School work has shown great progress this past year. All organ­izations have done c ommend ably in carrying out their various tasks.
