BETHLEN ALMANAC 159 1959 Summer School — Perth Amboy, N. J. The Youth Fellowship and Youth Club were functioning under the capable leadership of Rolf Ahlers, student minister from Princeton Seminary who worked faithfully and drew the youth to interesting meetings and conferences. The singing from Sunday to Sunday of the choir fills our hearts with joy and thanksgiving. Mrs. Lillian Banyacski, organist, was assisted by Mrs. Florence Deak. Summer time is always the season when the members grow weary. In the future this is the period, when they must show more readiness to come for rehearsals. The Women’s Guild, under the leadership of Mrs. Gabriel Tariska, made a wonderful progress during the past year. Some new possiblities arose and old ways and standard programs were carried out with vigor and success. The Confirmation Classes need special mention here. Not because they do something which is above what they should do, but because this is the only group among the Hungarian churches in America, where one of the official confessions of the church, The Heidelberg Catechism is taught. Children must be either 14 years old or in the 8th grade when they are confirmed. The classes are conducted for 2 years. Carteret — Board of Elders with Dr. Andrew Harsanyi, Pastor.
