142 BETHLEN ALMANAC Beside his pastoral work of the church the pastor takes and active part in the synodical youth work. He keeps a good relationship with the other Hungarian churches of the area. He is treasurer of the Western Hungarian Ministerial Association. On May 31-st he obtained a helpmate by marrying Mrs. Anny Schafer who came to Austria with her 3 year old son, Martin and ever since takes a gradually more active part in the work of the church. PHOENIXVILLE, Pa. — Pastor: the Rev. Andrew Arvay. The vacant pulpit was filled by the congregational meeting of April 5, 1959, when the Rev. Andrew Arvay was unanimously called. He served Conneaut and Ashtabula, O., for 9 years. He was installed on June 12, 1959. Philadelphia Synod was represented by its president, the Rev. Wilmer Long; the Rev. Nicholas Pazar participated in the service. A banquet followed and the new pastor received valuable gifts. The main event of this year will be the 60th anniversary of the congregation. The consistory plans to pay off the $9,300 debt on the parish house by the time of the jubilee. RACINE, Wise. — Pastor: Rev. Raymond Dobay The officers of the church for the last year are: Roily Gayhart, President; Walter Orbán, Vice-President; Prank Bogyos, Recording Secretary; Mrs. Dorothy Szabó, Financial Secretary; Paul Bodi Jr., Treasurer; Prank Orbán and the late Andrew Dudish Jr., Auditors; Ernest Gayhart, Mrs. Julius Toth, Mrs. Louis Szabó Jr., Ladis Zahalka, and John Kovach Jr. comprised the rest of the Consistory. The Church has the following organizations: The Lorántffy Zsuzsánna Ladies Aid which has approximately 25 members. Its officers are: Mrs. Frank Bogyos Sr., President; Mrs. Frank Bodnar, Vice President; Mrs. Louis Szabó Jr., Recording Secretary; Mrs. Ladis Zahalka, Treasurer; Mrs. Helen Oravetz and Mrs. Rose Kupo, Auditors. The Evening Women’s Guild which includes the English speaking women of the congregation has a membership of 16. Its officers are: Mrs. Walter Orbán, President; Mrs. Roily Gayhart, Vice-President; Mrs. Frank Bogyos Jr., Secretary; Mrs. Louis Szabó, Treasurer. Providence E. & R. Church, Racine, Wis.
