BETHLEN NAPTÁR 225 REV PAUL FERENCZY was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, on June 4, 1908. When two years of age he was taken to Hungary by his parents to Hemadpere, Abauj County. After completing elementary school in his home town he went to Miskolc, where he attended high school and three years of college. He came back to the land of his birth in 1927 and entered Bloomfield College and Seminary. Rev. Ferenczy was ordained for the Christian ministry on December 22, 1932. He was affiliated with the Presbyterian Church in the U.S.A. for 14 years, and served in the following congregations: Franklin N.J.; Yonkers, N.Y.; Beaver Falls, Pa.; Farrell, Pa.; and Leechburg, Pa. In 1946 he accepted the unanimous call to' the Free Magyar Reformed Church of McKeesport, where he served for four years. On July 1, 1950, he entered the field of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America, where he is District Manager of the New York District, which embraces the States of New York and Connecticut. Rev. and Mrs. (Mary Kurimay) Ferenczy live in a beautiful new home in Bridgeport. Since swimming and fishing are his special hobbies Rev. Ferenczy’s home is well situated on a lake so that he need just walk out to his front yard to enjoy his hobbies and still have all the comforts of home near at hand. He loves Hungarian music. The Ferenczys have two children: Greta, married, and Paul, Jr., attending Bloomfield College. ALEXANDER CSIK, a born leader and one of the most energetic district managers of our Federation, is a native of Bridgeport, Conn. As a youngster he was taken to Hungary where he had his elementary schooling in Gönczruszka. Returning to the United States he enrolled in the evening classes of the Connecticut State Vocational High School where he specialized in drafting. Alex spent 5 years in active duty in the U.S. Army and 3 years in the Connecticut State Guards from where he was discharged as lieutenant. Under the G.I. Bill he became a union graduate of carpentry. He worked as foreman of a handbag company, of a lumber company, and was president of the Norwalk Local Union of the International Handbag, Luggage, and Novelty Workers Union of A.F.L. For years he was program director and Hungarian announcer over WNLK Radio Station. His chief hobby is writing poetry, many of which have appeared in Hungarian papers. An extremely civic-minded young man, Mr. Csik has held many offices. Among others he was president of the Kossuth and Blood For Freedom Committee in Norwalk, president of the Pannónia Club of Bridgeport, vice president of the Hungarian Reformed Presbyters Association, and controller of the United Magyar Civic Association of Western Pennsylvania. A member of the Hungarian Reformed Federation since 1938 Mr. Csik has been the district manager of the Pennsylvania District for a number of years, succeeding the late Mr. Michael B. Tusai. Though very busy in his chosen field as well as in his civic activities Alex has enrolled in the Dale Carnegie Leadership Training Course. He is certainly a go-gether and mighty hard to keep up with!
