Life in our Bethlen Home

234 BETHLEN NAPTÁR have rallied to our support. With the exception of a very few, the superintendent has visited all one hundred congregations within the past four years. OUR STAFF With a few exceptions, our staff has remained the same as was reported in 1948: 1. Rev. Joseph Kecskemethy, superintendent (since Nov. 1, 1944), is head of the Bethlen Home and is its treasurer under bond, directly responsible to the Board of Managers. His wife supervises the housekeeping in the children’s and directs the activities of the children. 2. The overseer of the old folks was the Rev. Alexander Mircse through December 31, 1951, at which time his resignation took effect, when the Rev. Louis Varga, formerly of Pittsburgh, took over the work. He was elected to his position by the Board of Directors in October, 1951. Mrs. Varga helps as matron. 3. George Uzonyi, a guest of the old folks’ home, D. P., is now employed as office help. 4. Mrs. Béla Miron, a guest of the old folks’ home, D. P., helps as supervisor of the children. 5. Mrs. Barbara Gacsalyi has been a cook at the Bethlen Home for the past twenty-two years. She is in the children’s home. 6. Mrs. Mary Szabó, housekeeper at the children’s home, has served the institution for fourteen years. 7. Mrs. Helen Shuto has been a houseworker in the children’s home for four years. 8. Mrs. S. P. Roadman is a nurse at the old folks’ home and has been with the Bethlen Home since September, 1951. 9. Mrs. Ida Orosz has been cooking at the old folks’ home for four years. 10. Mrs. Katherine Zettl, D. P., has been a housekeeper in the old folks’ home for the past two years. 11. Mrs. Josephine Evetovics, D. P., is the cook at the farm house. 12. Walter Springer, with the Home for the past six years, is our farm foreman.
