Respect for ideals

BETHLEN NAPTÁR 75 your hearts devoted to respect for human ideals, no matter who you are, no matter to whom or to what you were born, no matter what others think of you, no matter under what handicaps you are called to labor. If led by the consuming fire of some noble ideal, you may be, nay, you shall be, great. Hitch your wagon to a star; embrace a noble ideal, and it will help you to rise into a world of limitless opportunities, limitless rewards and limitless joy. Carried on the wings of noble ideals, you can make your life a creative life, a life rich in all that men of all ages revered and lived for. The precept of a really successful life is very simple. Let the word of God offer it to you tonight. “The flesh availeth nothing, it is the spirit that quickeneth” (John 6:63); “the body without spirit is dead” (Jas. 2:26); or, as our Scripture lesson advises us: “Look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” Amen. Baccalaureate Service, Leechburg, Pa., May 23, 1948. Endre Sebestyén BŰNEIM ISMEREM Bűneim ismerem, Verj s ölelj, Istenem. Szívemet tördelem. Irgalom, kegyelem! Ki vagyok: te tudod, Előled nem futok. De ha itt nem lehet, Készíts majd Ott helyet Házadba benyitok, Előtted nincs titok. Öledben, Istenem! Bűneim ismerem. Gyökössy Endre.
