BETHLEN NAPTAR 149 “Admission to the Children’s Home is limited to children from five to thirteen years of age, whether they are wholly or half orphaned, or those lacking proper care. Admission may be gained in the first place by such children who are wholly orphaned children of members of the Federation; in the second place, half orphaned or children of members of the Federation lacking proper care; in the third place, and only exceptionally, wholly or half orphaned children of such parents who, while not members of the Federation, are or were members of such organizations which contributed regularly to the upkeep of the Bethlen Home.” “Application for admittance to the Children’s Home shall be presented with the recommendation of a branch of the Federation and, as far as possible, with that of the officers of a church. Applications are to be mailed to the Superintendent of the Home.” “The parent or guardian of the child whose application is presented shall cause the child to be examined by a physician in order that no contagious disease may be taken into the Home. The Children’s Home has the right to have the child examined by its own physician. Into the Home for the Aged only persons over 60 years of age may be admitted; younger persons only in case they are permanently disabled, but do not require constant medical care; and if they have been members of the Federation for at least ten years and if they have one thousand dollars of insurance. In special cases the Supreme Council will have to decide. Admission into the Home for the Aged shall be made upon the recommendation of a branch of the Federation and officers of a congregation, after a physical examination. Aged members of the Federation shall be considered first for admission. Applications are to be mailed to the Superintendent of the Home who shall present them to the next meeting of the Board of Managers.” Children Under the Care of the Bethlen Home in 1946-1947 Charles Balazs, Homestead, Penna.; Stephen Balazs, East Chicago, Ind.; Tibor Csóka, Fairfield, Conn.; Gloria de Concha, Westfield, N.
