Maurice West, that quit, young ambitious Junior Wobbly in New York City is perhaps the most popular male in the Manhattan Local. There must be a reason. When a delegate is to be sent to a conference or united front meeting, Maurice is usually the unanimous choice of the members. Mostly because he functions as elected. He is quit when there is much noise by others but in the business meetings he is always ready to say his part and steer the members on the right course when needed. Maurice is the most intellec­tually advanced in the Local and can hold his own against any his age. He’s about 16, is very likable especially by a certain brown-haired girl, who is usually near him. When the reader sees an art­icle signed M. it is safe to bet that it was written by Maurice. He writes pretty often and I believe in Irene Zurza of Detroit, we find the best wobbly speaker the IWW has had in a long time. If you have never had the pleasure of hearing an address by Irene, you have mis­sed something quite grand. She has a forceful way of speaking and you stop to listen to her whether you had intended to or not. usually has several aliases under which he writes. Maurice was the chief agitat­or at the recent JWU Rally held when he organized a raid on the kitchen but the Kitchen Police were so Fair (if ya know wot I Mean) that the revolt flopped. Recently, he was the promot­er of an effort to publish a history of the JWU but this has been dropped for the time being because of the Cold Weather, so I’m tild. BRIDGEPORTI ÜNNEPÉLY. A Munkás Betegsegély­ző Szövetség bridgeporti osztálya az IWW magyar tagjaival tartja meg JUBILEUMI ÜNNEPÉLYÉT. Április 18-ikán, az az szombat este 8 órai kezdet­tel, az IWW 211 Spruce St.-i helyiségében. Lesz színdarab és utána tánc, jó zenéről gandoskod- va van. Ne csak ön, hanem barátjait is hozza magával. CHICAGÓBAN a General Defense javára április 25-én, szombaton este nagyszabású TÁNC ESTÉLY lesz a Bérmunkás Hall-ban 1604 California Ave. Belé­pő dij 25 cent. A rendezőbizottság min­den munkást és munkás­nőt meghív erre az estély­re, amelynek jövedelmét az osztályharc fogjai vár­ják. Az IWW Egyetemes Végrehaj­tó Bizottsága jelenti, hogy egy magát “One Big Union Club”- nak nevező csoportnak az IWW- val semmiféle összeköttetése nincs. Fred. W. He, The Reporter, analyzes the character of the juniors in New York City —, and do you also remember that he asked you to reveal his identity (if you can) after the complete set of his personalities has been published??? WATCH FOR IT!!! TO THE REPORTER: Vel­ma Saytos af Detroit, Michigan, thinks it- is a good idea, to write of personalities ; to show how really much she appreciates the idea she has written of two people well known in the Detroit Who’s Who. That’s splendid cooperation (thank you Velma) and I do hope some other juniors come across with articles equall good. They are appreciated. Jr. Ed. A PERSONALITY: In this article I will endeavor to clear up some of the mystery surrounding that boy who signs himself J. S. of Detroit. This is confidential — he is rather queer and yes, even mysterious in his every day actions. If ever a boy about five feet, eight inches in heighth appears before you and thrusts at you a question, using about every word of Mr. Webs­ter’s good book — that will un­doubtedly be J. S. At any social affair you will find him quite the surrounded by these admiring females, who listen attentively to his latest poems. But don’t misunderstand me, J, S. is not conceited by any means; he is rather em­barrassed when being compli­mented. His íéet shift and he casts a glance to the ceilling for comfort. But while we may admire J. S. for his poetic genius, his family think him quite a nuisance. A typical night at their household is one where everyone is peacefully asleep, only to be awakened during the wee, sma’ hours of morning by J. S. who suddenly has come across a great line for that poem in the making. He prompt­ly, much to the annoyance of his family, sets it on paper and once again retires. I think in J. S. we have quite an important contributor to the Junior column and let’s hope we hear from him soon.
