These articles are written by Juniors from the J. W. U. school in Chicago and Daniel Horsley is the instruct or.—Jr. Ed.) Cooperation is of great value when you come to think of it. In the period of slavery the huge pyramids and towers could not have been built by one man for it would be too much work. They were built by thousands of slaves. Cooperation is of great value to the farmers in harvesting and berry picking, etc. Without cooperation in the factories the workers would not be able to make enough commodities to supply the human want. In the factory each worker makes a certain part of a commodity, while in the guilds each shop 'had a certain trade. When workers in the guild shop made a commodity it was their own and they sold it themselves, but in the factories the workers sold their labor power which made the commodities while the boss made profit out of it. Before the invention of machinery tihe commodity that a worker sold was at the price he had to pay to make it. But with the invention of machinery the factories could produce commodities faster and sell them at a cheaper price and still the boss had plenty of surplus stock! which he turned into profit. With this surplus stock the boss could hire more workers and reap in more money. He lived in mansions while the workers lived in shacks. He Jfound out that he could live off the workers. Soon he started hiring managers and stool pigeons to watch <every move of the worker. He therefore became a parasite iand took vacations while the worker worked the year round. The law of the guilds was that you could not hire an apprentice or a journey man that held a different trade. A merchant could buy every, commodity that the village had but he could not buy labor power as a commidity. If a new guild was found they could not put two guild -masters into one shop but they built a new one. If an employee of a factory invented a tool that tool would not belong to him because he made it in the factory where he was getting paid to work. We find that manufacturing arose in two ways. (1) a group of men under one roof each making a part of a certain commodity, (2) separate workers in separate workshops coming together each of them contributing to the same commodity. For example if a man working in his o&n workshop wants to make a cart it will take him longer to make the cart than the men that work in the factory making a certain part all day long. After the development of machinery the worker found out that his old tools were too clumsy. He thought if he used a lighter hammer he could do his work faster and more of it. For an example if a blacksmith was pounding out a horseshoe with a heavy hammer and picked up a hammer that a watchmaker used he would think it would be too clumsy for a watch maker to use because he was not used to it. Manufacturing brings together all the handicraftsmen of other trades. In the factory he loses his skill and his job gets tiresome. The workers get tired of working at a certain part of a commodity and the capitalists wonder why workers strike and organize. Under Feudalism and small agriculture of the middle ages co-operation between serfs and peasants was very necessary and was well developed. Co-operation is a fundamental form of the Capitalist mode of production ; it really begins when each capitalist employes a large number of workers under one roof. A union of workers, independent handicraftsmen come under one roof for production of a single commodity. Then a splitting up or workers of one handicraft into more detailed, isolated and independent operations. In Birmingham alone 500 varieties of hammers were produced. From 1800 to 1829 Robert Owens directed a (great cotton mill at New Lanark in Scotland. Robert Owen was the first one to establish schools. If the workers would get charity the workers would have to rebel. They would organize. But at present the capitalist keeps the workers depending on dharity. Az idő itt van és szervezkedni soha nem késő. Tehát félre a tunyasággal és pártoskodással mtársaim, hisz már három éve semmit avagy szórványos időt dolgozunk. Már a legsötétebb agyú bérmunkás is látja amit ezelőtt nem látott. Szervezkedjünk iparilag az Egy Nagy Szervezetben az IWW tanai szerirtt, hogy erősek legyünk és öntudatosak, mert csakis .öntudatra ébredve és fegyelmezett szervezeti erőnkkel juthatunk célunkhoz az ipari kommunizmushoz és nem máskép.
