-28Th e Programme The Technical University of Budapest is launching an International MBA (Master of Business Administration) programme in February 1992. Taught in English, it aims to develop professional and entrepreneurial management tu meet the challenges of today's world. To ensure that the degree will have the appropriate international standing, it will be examined and validated in cooperation with Heriot-Watt Business School in the United Kingdom, and an international board of examiners. Toenhance quality, the students will bcrequired totakethointemntionalCrnduatc ,• Management Admission Test (CM AT) and a TOEFL test; be limited initially in numbers to about 30 to ensure good interaction, with a maximum 20% of foreign students to provide input of other cultures and experiences. The MBA programme is primarily aimed at experienced industrial engineers making the transition to senior management.» The programme is designed according to "best practice", lasting 4 semesters, with submission of a dissertation in the 4th semester. Teaching will include Visiting Professors from Heriot-Watt University, and experienced practitioners from commerce and industry. Core courses The Link Partner Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh is one of the leading technological universities in the United Kingdom, with a broad range of activities in engineering, science and management, and a highly successful research park which was the first of its kind. I Heriot-Watt Business School has about 60 teaching and research staff and around 600 students. The School is accredited by the UK Association of MBAs and is a member of the Council of University Management Schools. It has strong links with many businesses through Teaching Companies, short courses and consultancy. The Business School offers an executive MBA programme on a full-time or part-time basis, as well as a distance learning MBA programme with material written by some of the world's leading academics. The Heriot-Watt Business Sch(x>l is pleased to join with other leading UK institutions in contributing to thedevelopmentof management education in Hungary. The project is funded by the British Council, will comprise: Human Resources Management, Statistics/Quantitative Methods, Business Economics, Accounting, Marketing, Strategic Management, Finance, Business Law. Elective modules will be chosen from a wide range of courses offered, such as: Business English, Production Management, Information Management, Quality Management, Innovation Management, Small Business Management, Privatisation, Corporate Finance, Financial Management, Decision-Making, etc.
