The author studied the value of registers as historical sources in connection with the military victims of the first and second world war in Zenta and Magyarkanizsa. The author also supplemented the casualties list of the Military History Institute with the data of registers regarding those killed in World War II at Zenta and Magyarkanizsa. NENAD PREDOJEVIC ANALITICAL INVENTORIES AS INFORMATIVE STUDY-AIDS IN THE ARCHIVES OF VOJVODINA The archives of Vajdaság make extracts of the documents after organizing the materials of the archives piecemeal. Until the end of the 18th century regesta was made from every document but later when the quantity of documents increased by the developement of script, extract for files was made only. From the 1970s till nowadays a lot of similar study-aids were made so the reformed Association of the Archivists of Vajdaság gave its whole first conference to the questions of the method of resource publication. It's a professional dilemma whether the data of indexes need to be taken out directly from the document or just from the extract. The experts of the archives of Vajdaság chose the latter one because their aim is to provide brief and substantial information for the researcher. Recently the computer-made extracts are available in full length in the continually growing database of the archives.
