The two elected representatives were local landowners, who played significant role in 1848 and 1861 as well in public life of Pest country-district. Mr. Balás­falvi Kiss, Miklós was the Chief Constable (the chief administrative officer) of Pest country—district from 1861. Mr. Horváth, Döme — determining person of the town's public life during absolutism, supporter of arts, foun­der of Katuna-cult, promoter of economic development — became Attorney General of Pest country-district from January of 1861. Kecskemét representatives' society affiliation reflected not only the local interest but the country's situation. One of the representative's was member of noble landowners, the other one embodied the noble intellectu­als, while both were member of country-district representative system. 1939. O.) census of popu­lation has been held decennially, namely in every zero-ended year, in the whole territory of the Country. Beetwen census of 1930. and of 1941. there were four partial registra­tions that reflect both extraordinary condition of these years and changes of great importance in the Country's life. Those men are registered who reached lower age limit of 12 — age of being LEVENTE (member of a paramilitary youth organisation in Hun­gary between 1928 and 1944) — and do not exceed upper age limit of 70. Military and administrative registration was carried out on the besis of Paragraph 87. concerning those obliged to fulfill civil-defense service. Ac­cording to the enacting clause, women of special qualification between age of 16 and 50 were personally registered too. 12 questions out of 31 were distinctly kind of military. These files had to be sent to the C. S. O. without having information in the enacting clause of their later destiny and place of storage.
