BAMBERGER BAMBERGER GYÖRGY (Erdőkút, 1890-Budapest, 1952) STERN RÓZSA (Jánosháza, 1900-Budapest, 1953) Bamberger György 1890-ben született Bamberger Mihály földbirtokos, budapesti háztulajdonos és Kohn Ottilia fiaként. 1904-től élt Budapesten, a Kereskedelmi Akadémián tanult. Harcolt az I. világháborúban. 1920-ban kötött házasságot Stern Rózsával, Stern Samu (a neológ Pesti Izraelita Hitközség, majd a Magyar Izraeliták Országos Irodája vezetője, Magyarország német megszállása után a Zsidó Tanács elnöke) leányával. Gyermekük, Lídia 1924-ben született. Bamberger pályáját a bőriparban kezdte, majd a Pesti Magyar Kereskedelmi Bank (amely igazgatóságának apósa is tagja volt) érdekkörébe tartozó cégek, például a Viktória Szövő- és Kötőgyár Rt., illetve különböző ingatlanforgalmi vállalkozások vezetőségében működött. 1926-ban került a Petneházy utcai kenyérgyár élére, ugyanekkor részvényeinek felét is megszerezte. A Központi Tejcsarnok Üzemeit Ellátó Sütőipari Rt-t 1942-ig vezette, ekkor a zsidótörvények következtében elbocsátották. A család 1940-ben költözött a Bimbó út 39. szám alatti, Kozma Lajos által tervezett modern társasházba. Otthonukat 1944 júniusában el kellett hagyniuk: „Mindent amihez ragaszkodtunk és szerettük ott hagytuk (rendes házmesternénkre bízva). Nehéz szomorú, fájó szívvel búcsúztunk a régi nyugodt szép életünktől.” - emlékezett vissza Stern Rózsa a kiköltözésre. Bambergerék Stern Samu Eskü úti házába hurcolkodtak át, György Bamberger was born in 1890, the son of land owner and Budapest home owner Mihály Bamberger and Ottilia Kohn. He lived in Budapest from 1904 and studied at the Academy of Commerce. He fought in World War I. In 1920 he married Rózsa Stern, daughter of Samuel Stern (leader of the neolog Pest Israelite Congregation, then the National Office of Hungarian Israelites, and President of the Jewish Council after the German occupation of Hungary). Their daughter, Lidia, was born in 1924. Bamberger started his career in the leather industry, then worked in the management of companies falling within the scope of interest of the Hungarian Commercial Bank of Pest (on the Board of Directors of which, his father-in-law also sat), such as Viktória Weaving and Knitting Factory Co. and various real estate companies. In 1926 he took control of the Petneházy utca bread factory, and simultaneously acquired half of its shares. He led the Bakery Factory Co. supplying the Shops of the Central Dairy until 1942, when he was dismissed as a result of the Jewish laws. In 1940, the family moved to a modern condominium, designed by Lajos Kozma, at Bimbó Road 39. They had to leave their home in June 1944: “We left behind everything that was important to us and that we cherished (entrusting it to our kind housekeeper). With a sad and heavy heart, we bid farewell to our old peaceful, beautiful life. " - recalled Rózsa Stern of their departure.
