Kós' First Steps as an Independent Architect
Building, Material, structure The head of the construction team was the chief engineer of the state construction authority of Sepsiszentgyörgy/Sfántu Gheorghe, Andor Malmos. As Kós had promised, the building materials came from the Székelyföld region and the craftsmen were of Székely nationality. Local entrepreneurs were involved - builders István Molnár and Mihály Szabó, hardware merchant András Deák and locksmith István Jakócs. As for the raw materials, the sandstone of the main walls came from the local quarry, the bricks from nearby Prázsmár/Prejmer, the timber from the surrounding woods, the roof tiles from Bodok/Bodoc, the white marble covering from Gyergyószárhegy/Lázarea.
