Bevezetés

matic news and items of this territory were released prior to the annexation by the Yugoslav state. The places of release and publication indicated in the books were ignored in the index. We placed the abbreviations of names and signs that could not be elucidated at the end of the list, by their initials. Similarly to the editors of the national bibliography, we did not undertake to prepare a register of subjects, since this would have required the precise studying of each item, which actually passes beyond our means. However, in the case of articles and studies, where the title did not certainly indicate the numismatic topic, we have referred to the content at the end of the vocabulary entry. Still in the case of larger, comprehensive works we did not consider this reference necessary, since it is obvious that these were included in the index due to the medals or coins from Pécs and Baranya. Finally we have to mention that in the 'annex' items were included, which in the course of edition accidentally were ignored and those published subsequent to the closing down of the manuscript but still in 1999. For the sake of a later inclusion in the index, we equipped these items with continuous numbering. We hope that we managed to prepare a useful work for the numismatists and researchers of local history, which will, despite its weaknesses, encourage the publication of the new edition of the Hungarian national numismatic bibliography and support the edition of a general bibliography of Pécs and Baranya county.
