Judit Borsy: The Calvinist Ministers and Teachers of the Diocese of Upper Baranya in the First Half of the 19th Century

In the early 19* century in the Calvinist Diocese of Upper Baranya there were 62 Reformed parishes and 18 affiliated congregations. The Reformed parishes were situated in the settlements of 8 larger estates and on the territory of some smaller ones. The territory of the Diocese of Upper Baranya was the least favourable region of the county of Baranya in terms of natural resources, consisting characteristically of small, what is more, dwarf villages. The incomes of ministers had to be provided by the congregations themselves. This had a negative impact on the respect of ministers and the relations between the faithful and the parishioner. The study discusses the financial, social as well as family positions of ministers along with their relations with church-goers.

Judit Borsy: Die reformierten Pastoren und Lehrer der Reformierten Diözese Oberbranau

In der Reformierten Diözese Oberbranau gab es am Anfang des 19. Jahrhunderts 62 reformierte Muttergemeinden und 18 Filialen. Reformierte Pfarreien gab es auf dem Gebiet von 8 größeren und etlichen kleineren Besitztümer. Das Gebiet der Reformierten Diözese Oberbranau ist die mit den ungünstigsten Gegebenheiten ausgestattete Gegend des Komitates Baranya (Branau), mit charakteristisch kleinen oder winzigen Dörfern. Der Großteil des Lohnes der Pastoren wurde von der Gemeinde gesichert, was das Ansehen der Pastoren beeinträchtigte. Die Studie stellt die finanziellen, gesellschaftlichen und Familienverhältnisse der Minister und ihre Beziehungen zu den Mitgliedern der Kirchengemeinde dar.
