The problem of where to store the evergrowing collection of wrought-iron objects was solved by transferring many items to Nagytétény Mansion (in southwest Budapest), which also became part of the Museum of Applied Arts in 1949, or by placing them in temporary rented storage outside the city; such frequent moves resulted in many identification labels being lost. Now and then a stroke of luck may help us to identify the occasional object that has been recorded in the inventory as a “warehouse item of unknown origin”.
