4. View of the exhibition Bolder than Painting - Modern Commercial Posters in Hungary, 2014 photomontage proved to be very useful in posters. In the 1930s the art of the poster was enriched with new, emotional, associative and metaphoric elements and the number of picturesque and plastic solutions was also growing. But the generous simplicity facilitating quick reception and the appropriate picturesque idea imprinting the mind of the viewer remained unchanged. The exhibition was reviewed in Vol. 21 (2014) of West 86th: A Journal of Decorative Arts, Design History, and Material Culture, written by Dominic Paterson. Luxury on the Table 21 June - 10 November 2014 Bridal beaker, asparagus server, and rabbit tureen - these are just some of the unfamiliar terms from the history of table setting and table decoration. The exhibition featured a number of rarely seen objects pulled from the collection, mainly stemming from the 18th and 19th centuries. Instead of the traditional display in showcases, an attempt was made to evoke the luxury of complete table settings from various periods. Polish Red Dots 28 June - 31 August 2014 The exhibition showed some of the best Polish designers who were awarded the Red Dot Design Award. Organized in cooperation with the Polish Institute in Budapest, the objects were displayed in the central hall of the Museum. 149
