Marked: on the back the combined sign of the Budapest Zsolnay factory and Géza Gorka can be found: the letter Z in the corona of the sun with Gorka written under it. 2.2 The Budapest Zsolnay factory produced Géza Gorka's designs from 1946 until 1948 when the factory was nationalized. The characteristic formal idiom and ornamental motifs of the artist are also conspicuous on the pieces mass-produced with factory technology. The openwork figure rests its left elbow on the left knee and the right hand on the right knee. Marked. On the bottom, the five towers and three shields with the in­scription ZSOLNAY / PECS can be seen. The design drawing of the figure can be found in the factory book of forms no. 17, with form no. 97121 entitled Mood. János Török was employed by the Pécs factory after graduation from the Academy of Design in 1956 and worked there until he retired in 1992. In the first years, the lat­ter half of the 1950s, he designed figures in a naturalist style. His interlaced, merging compositions often depict close human re­lations like the relationship of man and woman, mother and child.
