15. Detail of incomplete base fabric and narrow braid framing the tunic fragment The embroidery of the tunic back has an axially symmetric composition. Pairs of mandarin and other ducks swim on a lake of lotus flowers, with wild geese flying above them. In the central axis, a floral fountain rises up out of the lotus flower lake, with pairs of birds - phoenixes and peacocks ­turned towards each other on the side. At the top of the stream of flowers, in front of a terraced building, stands Zhongli Quan, the chief figure of the immortal group of the eight Taoists, a fan in his hand. 173
