buckles, sculptures, paintings and ceramics from the Yuan period (1279-1368), as well as Buddhist sculptures from the 17 ,h —18 th century, were displayed from our collection at this show, which attracted a significant number of visitors. In the summer of 2007, after a wait of many years, there appeared our publication White Gold, Mohammedan Blue and Peach Blossom linked to the permanent exhibition on the history of Chinese ceramics entitled 'Peach Blossom and Mohammedan Blue', on show in the building of the György Ráth Museum. The first volume of the specialist catalogue, which is in DVD-ROM format and in Hungarian and English language, discusses the early material in the Chinese ceramics collection at the Ferenc Hopp Museum. It was written by Dr. Györgyi Fajcsák, sinologist. (Fehér arany, mohamedánkék és hamvas őszibarack. Korai kínai kerámiák a Hopp Ferenc Kelet-Ázsiai Művészeti Múzeum gyűjteményében. I. kötet - White Gold, Mohammedan Blue and Peach Blossom. Early Chinese Ceramics in the Collection of the Ferenc Hopp Museum of Eastern Asiatic Arts, vol. I.) In autumn 2007 there appeared a volume in English published by the Eötvös University of Budapest that was closely connected with the other permanent exhibition at the György Ráth Museum (Keleti műgyűjtés Magyarországon a Hopp Ferenc Kelet-Ázsiai Művészeti Múzeum gyűjteményeinek tükrében / Collectors and Collections of Oriental Art). Its author was a member of the Museum's staff, Györgyi Fajcsák, and the title of the volume was Collecting Chinese Art in Hungary. Likewise in the summer of 2007, our catalogue of the Japanese lacquerware held by the Museum was published, in DVD-ROM format. Entitled Maki-e. Japanese Lacquer Art in the Material at the Ferenc Hopp Museum of Eastern Asiatic Arts, it was written by the japanologist Mónika Bincsik. In an appendix to this work was published the restoration documentation compiled by the lacquer restorer Zoltán Asztalos. In the summer of 2007, the garden of the Museum provided a site for advertising China's Hungarian season, which lasted from autumn 2007 until April 2008. Representing Hungary's Ministry of Culture and Education, Katalin Bogyay, State Secretary with Responsibility for International Relations, saluted the artists featured during this season and the organisers of the different programmes. In autumn 2007, the Museum joined the work of a virtual collection presenting masterpieces: the VCM (Virtual Collection of Masterpieces). By means of this initiative (which brings together approximately sixty institutions and presents collections in Asia and in Europe), among outstanding artefacts at Oriental museums in Europe and Asia twenty-five pieces from the Ferenc Hopp Museum will be available for viewing on the Internet from 2008. The autumn brought personnel changes at the Museum: our Director, Zsuzsanna Renner, was appointed General Director of the Museum of Applied Arts with effect from 1 December 2007, and Dr. Györgyi Fajcsák took over the running of the Ferenc Hopp Museum as Acting Director.
