NEW ACQUISITIONS 1999 DEPARTMENT OF CERAMICS The new acquisitions of 1999 are connected with the exhibition "Five Decades of Hungarian Ceramic Art". Partly since due to funds from the National Cultural Foundation and with the support of the Ministry of National Cultural Heritage we were able to purchase a number of remarkable works of art from some contemporary artists already before the exhibition, partly, because after closing the exhibition the artists themselves offered some of their works for our collection. The donations were initiated, just like the exhibition itself, by the president of the Hungarian Ceramic Artists' Society, Zsuzsa Pannonhalmi. It was in the November of 1998 when Dr. Zsuzsa Lovag, General Director, gave her consent to organizing a joint exhibition in the circular gallery of the Museum, by the Museum of Applied Arts,
