A good quality, historizing oil painting in the style of the popular Dutch genre pictures of the 17th century in an original but overpainted wooden frame with Neo-Baroque decoration. The round clock in a guilloche border has a quarter-hour striking-mechanism and is built in the high pediment of the frame. In the back of the picture a clockwork music box playing four different tunes is built in. The object was purchased by the Museum of Applied Arts from Tibor Pataky. Inv. Nr.: 93.39 10. Ornamental table-clock Franz Hitzlberger, Győr, mid-19-century In a glazed wooden case, decorated by brass and mother-of-pearl ornaments with alabaster columns. H: 68 cm W: 42.5 cm D: 20 cm A table-clock decorated with typical Neoclassical motifs in a clock-house of ebonized wood, opening by a brass latch. On the tympan the applied decoration of floral motifs in mother-of-pearl is fastened by nails and flanked by two decorative vases in the form of amphoras. Under the clock with a quarterhour striking mechanism is a carved and gilt wooden lyre decorated with a hanging drapery. Signed on the clock-face: FRANZ HITZLBERGER IN RAAB. The object was purchased by the Museum of Applied Arts from Tibor Pataky. Inv. Nr.: 93.40 11. Box József Rüffer Pécs, about 1830 Silver, with hammered and chased decoration H: 8.3 cm R: 9.5 cm Round jar with a plain jacket and a lid. On the top an incised rosette with the initials HT or TH. On ground of the hallmarks it is a work of the Pécs master József Rüffer (18101876) from about 1830. (For details see Kőszeghy 1936, Nr. 1625.) The object, previously under protection, was donated to the Museum of Applied Arts by Dr. and Mrs. Ervin Berki. Inv. Nr. 39.124 12. Festival Price, figurine Vladimir Péter, 1993 H: 14,5 cm R: 17 cm A re-cast after the original made as a festival price for the Veszprém TV Meeting. On a half-globular pediment of a black, streaked marble a comical bronze putto figurine lying flat and resting on his elbows. On the pediment a small, applied bronze tablet with the name of the master. The Museum of Applied Arts acquired the object by purchase from the artist from the funds supplied for the purchase of contemporary works. Inv. Nr. 93.156 (Eva Békési) TEXTILOSZTÁLY 13. Rinaldo Armida karjaiban - szövött kárpit Francia, 17. század második fele Gyapjúból és selyemből gobelintechnikával szövött 350 x 450 cm A kárpiton ábrázolt jelenet Tasso Megszabadított Jeruzsálem című eposzának egy részletét illusztrálja. Armida damaszkuszi trónörökösnő beleszeret a keresztesháború egyik hadvezérébe Rinaldóba. Az óceán egyik elrejtett szigetén varázslatos kastélyt és kertet vásárol kettejüknek. Ebben az idilli parkban látjuk őket a kárpiton. A kárpit kartonjai Simon Vouet festményei alapján készültek, melyekről az első nagy sorozatot a párizsi Faubourg Saint-Germain műhelyében szőtték a 17. század első felében. A múzeum közelmúltban örökölt kárpitja e sorozat megfelelő darabjának színeiben visszafogottabb (kék, zöld, okker), rajzában elnagyoltabb változata.
