Heinrich HEERDEGEN, Jr. (active around 1720, Wöhrd hei Nürnberg) 15. Brocaded paper. Small birds, a dog, a bear, a rabbit, a squirrel, a lion and other animals among gilt tendrils, over a yellow base.

13 UN KNOW MASTER 16. This gill brocaded paper, the whole sheet decorated widi busts ol ancient philosophers, was made around 1720, in die workshop of an unknown master. Unmarked. The pattern consists of four rows of oval medallions in lobed fields, presenting six male profiles widi die following inscriptions: SERVIUS GALBA, ARISTIPPUS, HIERON, ALCAEUS, HESIODUS PITTAGUS,/ VIRGILIUS, CICERO, ARISTOTELES, HUMERUS, SOCRATES, SOPHOCLES,/ PRUSIAS, ZENON, PERSUS, HORATIUS, CRASSUS, SOLON,/ MARCUS BRUTUS, PLATO, GAIUS FIMBRIA, POMPEIUS, ANACREON, CATO. The fields in between are filled with stylised leaves and rhomboids

14 (Inv.No. 59.1356, Pict.6). UNKNOW MASTER 17. The book bound in brocaded paper is made by another unknown master (Inv.No. 58.1094, Pict.7).

15 The background is gold, over a black base, revealing a black relief ribbon frame and an unreal, scrolling foliage. It was probably made between 1720 and 1730. There is another, red variant marked AUGSPURG in the collection of the Budapest Museum of Applied Arts (Inv.No. 59.1337), thus, the maker is likely to be found in this circle. Johann Michael MUNCK (active about 1730-1760) 18. Brocaded paper. Red base, golden background, decorated widi large flowers, berries, leaves and clusters of grapes. Marked: ..H: MICH: MVNCK. N°63 (Inv.No. 59.1396, Pict.8). 19. Brocaded paper. Red base, golden background, decorated with large Bowers, benies and leaves. Marked: BEY.IOH.MICH... (Inv.No. 59.1427). 20. Brocaded paper. Yellow base, golden background, with clusters of grapes, flowers an. leaves. Marked: N 40 IOH.MICH... (Inv.No. 59.1303). 21. Brocaded paper. Orange base, golden background, widi (lowers and leaves. Marked: AEL MUNCK NO 41. (Inv.No. 59.1307). 22. A book bound in die variant of die previous paper (Inv.No. 54.1356).

16 23. Brocaded paper, with punched golden background, decorated with rocaillcs, rosettes, flowers and spots over a red base. Marked: AUGSPURG. BEYIOHANN.MICHAEL.MUNCK. (Inv.Nos. 59.1403 and 59.1424). 24. Bronze varnished paper. Small, gilt motils over a purple base. There arc medallions depicting a man with cars of wheal, wearing a turban, a putto with a quiver and arrows, and a female figure cooking. Marked: MUNCK AVG. (Inv.No. 59.1406). 25. Brocaded paper. A punched gilt background against a purple base, enriched widi flower and leaf motifs. The marking has been cut off, illegible (Inv.No. 59.1312). 26. Brocaded paper.
