The Hopp Museum of Eastern Asiatic Arts in 1975

THE HOPP MUSEUM OF EASTERN ASIATIC ARTS IN 1975 Last year our collections were enriched by 26 pieces. We can not give account ot outstanding pieces among the purchases for lack of really good offers. Our thanks are due to Mr. Dr. Edmund de Unger, London, and Mr. Dr. Géza Fehérvári, London, our donators. Here again we express our grateful thanks for their gifts. Exhibitions: A small room exhibition of „Chinese lacquer wares" was opened on 25th April 1975 in the China Museum. An other little exhibition was opened in the China Museum on 23th September 1975 about the ,,Calligraphy" of tne Far Eastern peoples. Also in the China Museum, in the rooms on the second floor a large and beautiful permanent exhibition of the „Arts of Japan" was opened on 21st February 1975. The two room exhibition of „Indián embroidery and weapons" in the Castle Museum of Nagytétény was opened on 26th March 1975. In the Regional History Museum of Pápa an exhibition of „Chinese applied arts" was arranged. It was opened on 10th October 1975. A travelling photo documentary exhibition was made on the collections, the exhibitions and the outstanding pieces of the Ferenc Hopp Museum of Eastern Asiatic Arts. This popular exhibition was exhibited in three places, in a factory, a cultural centre and in a students' hostel. The number of the visitors keeps growing significantly. In 1975 in the two museum buildings we received 46.167 people (China Museum: 23.132, Ferenc Hopp Museum: 23.035). In the Library the annual growth amounted to 380 volumes including books and periodicals. This year within the frame of the international publication exchange we sent our yearbooks Ars Decorativa 2 (1974) and Ars Decorativa 3 (1975) to 328 foreign institutes. 205
