FEHÉRVÁRI, Géza: A Hoard of Blue and White Sherds from the Dasht-e Kavir
NOTES I The author would like to take this opportunity to express his thanks and sincere gratitude to Mr. Anavian, for allowing him to study and photograph these sherds, and for presenting him the five most interesting pieces from this collection. - The author in 1971 attempted to drive along this road from Yezd to Tabas in a Volkswagen. After ca. 100 km, however, he was forced to turn back, due to the perilous sand dunes on the road. :! Information about these finds were given to the author by Mr. Anthony MacNicoll, former Director of the British Institute in Afghanistan and Field Director of the Kandahar excavations. 4 DK. stands for Dasth-e Kavir. 5 Arthur Lane.
