10 Ivory. Length: 3,8 cm. (Fig. 6) A finely carved puppy, playing with the string of a wooden sandal. Fine engraved hair, black inlaid eyes. Yellowed on the himotoshi side, with a rather worn himotoshi. Signature in cursive script: Rantei.

11 A prominent netsuke carver in Kyoto, at the end of the 18th century.
