H Elek Koronghi Lippich (1862—1924) artcritic, head of the Art Department in the Ministry of Education, one of the supporters of modern trends in the industrial art. Through his good offices, the Hungarian museums effected several significant purchases, so the Museum of Applied Arts, too, in the years round 1900. By his travels and personal connections, he furthered the international relations of the Hungarian art-craft.
