4-7., and 9-11. thoracic vertebrae, simultaneously with the ossification of the two hip bones and the sacrum (grave 84); the ossification of the bones of both feet (grave G 35); also the ossification of the right femur and the tibia in the articulatio of the knee (grave 42). As to women, degenerative changes are lighter, observable on 33 per cent of the investigated individuals. There was only one case of ankylosis, in which the 3-5. lumbar vertebrae ossificated with each other and the sacrum (grave G 7). The traces of inflammatory processes (periostitis?) could be observed on the tibiae of two men (graves 84, 92). A heavy inflammatory process (osteomyelitis) can be proved on the skeleton of a child of 9-10 years, involving among others the fusion of 3 thoracic vertebrae and the destruction of the corpus vertebral (grave 74). The abscesses appearing on the alveoli may be also enumerated among the inflammatory processes. They were represented in 5 per cent on men, in 32 per cent among women. Status post fracturam could be observed on four men;one of them was a fracture of the ulna, three were fractures of the costae. On women I found only the traces of a tibia fracture. Malnutritional diseases could be shown by macroscopic investigations only on children in 15 per cent; chemical investigations, however, proved their presence on children in 30, on women in 15 and on men in 6 per cent. The frequency of caries is relatively low; I could observe it in 2.5 per cent on males and in 5.4 per cent on females. I did not find any caries of the milk teeth. Teeth were missing on men in 11.4, on women in 14.9 per cent, giving a not too high value .
