Dr. T. Tóth szerk.: Studia historico-anthropologica (Anthropologia Hungarica 10. Budapest, 1971)

Deputy Director (November, 1962), and appointed Departmental Director since July, 1965. It should be noted that for two years (1960-1962), M. Malan acted as Deputy Director. 0. Botytyán (November, 1965) and Zs. Tajti (August, 1970) joined the scientific staff at a later period^" . Museological activities During the quarter of a century of it 3 existence, the workers of the Department had regularly participated in the salvaging of the skeletal remains exposed in the course of various archeological excavations. Dr. S. Wenger occupies an outstanding position in this regard, having collected more than four thousand anthropological items In situ, in 40 localities during 25 years. It is he who has indisputably most augmented, by far the greatest series, the historico-anthropological collection of the Department. It should be noted that, according to excavation possibilities, finds of predominantly the various sociohistorical ages have been collected and inventoried - from the Neolithic to the sociologically modern times. Beginning with 1965, we have increasingly emphasized the collection of finds originating from the Pre-Holocene , the Quartiary and Tertiary Ages, extending the temporal diapason of our activities and thereby the chronological mosaic of the preserved material of the Department with an eye to laying the basis of future researches. It may be mentioned in this connection that, by an order of the Ministry in May, 1966, we have received from the National Geological Institute the incomplete and fragmentary osteological and odontological finds from the Middle Paleolithic (Subalyuk) and the Upper Paleolithic (Pilisszántó ,Berva valley, Balla Cave, Pálfi Cave, Istállóskó), excavated during the preceding decades. I am indebted for some data to Dr. I.Allodiatoris and Dr. S. Wenger - TT.
