Rákoshegy, Nr. 9023 /Grave 5/. Cranial fragments, two parietal bones, occipital bone, portions of frontal bone, and os temporale. Thin, small mastoidei, weak occipital section referring to a female skull. Small fragment of frontal bone with weak arcus superciliaris and a 1 cm long sutura metopica. Age, defined by I. LENYGEL , 25-30 years. Neither the cranial fragments nor the long bones are suitable for a metric analysis. Rákoshegy, Nr. 9024 /Grave 9/. A well-preserved, massive cranium, female. Right ramus of mandible missing, periphery of foramen magnum slightly broken. Aged 30-35 years; according to biochemical analysis, 30-40 years. Only inner and outer surfaces of coronal suture ossified; dentition strongly worn, mastoidei small. Calvarium medium long, medium wide, mesocranial. Low in lateral view, chamaecranial /absolute values as well as index/. Curvooccipital. Low in posterior view, tapeinocranial, protuberantia occipitalis weak, sutura lambdoidea with six ossa wormiana. Forehead slightly retroclinate, no glabella, wide, eurymetopic, divided by sutura metopica. Complete morphological face low, upper face very low; mesoprosopio - mesen by index, orbital mesoconch, nasal root flat, with flat nasal bones, nose very wide. Lower margin of pyriform aperture anthropine. Zygomatic arc medium wide. Fossa canina very shallow, nearly flat. Maxilla wide. Alveolus shallow, indices of outer and inner palates short, upper face prognathous, but alveolar section mesognathous. Index of nasal projection of a very low value, reflecting a Mongoloidé character. Several features of facial flatness refer to a low-faced Mongoloidé. Skeletal bones very thin, not measurable due to their fragmentary state /Photograph/. + Rákoshegy. Nr. 9025 /Grave 10/. Occipital and basal sections missing, but facial part well preserved.Female. Gracile structure, small mastoidei, thin, small mandible. Dentition whole, hardly worn. Aged 20-25. According to chemical analysis of I. LENGYEL, 30-40 years old. Face medium high; according to both absolute values and index, entire face hyperleptoprosopic, upper face lepten /?/, orbital rounded, very high, nasal root medium broad, nasal bones small, flat, aperture narrow, leptorrhinian, lower margin infantile. Fossa canina entirely filled, face flat, strong alveolar prognathism. Outer and inner palate short, wide, index short. Nasal projection of smallest value, hence skull most Mongoloidé of all. With respect to also other features, dominantly Mongoloidé. Skeletal bones thin, fragmentary, calculated stature on basis of femur and tibia 149,8 cm, middle-short. The Mongoloidé features refer to an Inner Asian population, but the absence of the brain case precludes a definition of type /Photograph/. ë . According to the data of the Archives, in the grave of the young female /Rákoahegy, Nr. 9024/ there were some chicken bone 3 under the pelvic bone; they had not been saved during the excavation. With respect to the undisturbed grave it is possible that it was that of a woman deceased during gravidity. B.O.
