Anca Vrbovska-Saitta-' GODS & BEASTS THE NAZIS & THE OCCULT The epidemical spread of occult sects and societies in the United States and its influence over a certain segment of the population, especially youth, is a serious dangersignal. These seemingly “innocuous” sects, societies art often under the influence of Nazis. Overtly or covertly thev spread the germs of fascism. They have secret connections with international conglomerates, monopolies, banks; the CIA, FBI, Pentagon, all extending financial and other support. These cults are of international scope; offer panacea for all problems confronting the globe, and with the promise of magic cure seduce those naive individuals who are seeking a solution for their complex material, emotional, and spiritual problems. With false promises they try to divert attention from the menace of war, the constantly rising inflation, unemployment and the economic and financial crisis. j Dusty Sklar’s book: “Gods & Beasts, The Nazis & The Occult” /Thomas Crowell, New York, 1977/, based on documentary research, acquaints us not only with the danger of Nazi recrudescence, but with the roots of Nazism that lead back to the historically infamous occult Vehme, The Knights of Teutonic Order, originated in the 12th Century. The Vehmic Secret Court had the right to execute anyone who stood in its way. The post-World War I. Freie Korps /Free Corps/ of Captain Ehrhardt were Vehme murderers. They killed Rosa Luxemburg, Carl Liebknecht, Walter Rathenau, the foreign Minister of the Weimar Republic and hundreds of others who fought fascism. During the years before World War L, the Pan- German movement propounded the theory of Aryan superiority over other races, mainly Jews. This contempt for non-Aryans foreshadowed Hitler and his frantic rages against non-Teutons and all progressives. Among other cults, always numerous in Germany and Austria, the post-World War I. Thule Society was one of the roots of Nazism. This Society which pretended to study historical German antiquity, was founded by Baron Rudolf Sebotten- dorf /born Adam Rudolf Glauer/. It included many aristocrats, financial magnates, army officers, industrial kings, scientists, judges, lawyers, eagerly swallowing its racial mysticism and Germany’s destiny for world rule. Hitler appropriated these views adding to it his venomous hate of Jews, Gypsies, Slavs, Blacks, also democracy, and communism. Hitler believed in spiritualism, astrology, clairvoyance. So did Heinrich Himmler, ere ator of the SS /Schutzstaffel/. The question arises: how was it possible for the Nazis to win over the German youth? The explanation is this: even after World War I. the leaders of the German youth movements were reactionary chauvinists. The Youth Organization of the left that came into existence, taught to strive for a classless society where the individual served the needs of the many. In contrast the Voelkische /Folks/ propaganda maintained there were no differences among Germans of pure Teutonic origin, rulers and subjects were one folk. But every German, regardless of class, was to fight without mercy the Jews, non- Aryans, Communists, and those opposed to Hitler’s doctrines. According to Nazism for the pure Arvan all is permitted: to kill, destroy, torture...This inhuman propaganda instilled into youthful minds won over mostly middle-class youth, sons of rich farmers, also a large segment of the unemployed youth. Later they became Roehm’s Storm Troopers Himmler’s Waffen SS murderers, torturing and driving victims of death-camps into gas-chambers. Hitler was their Messiah. The number of occult sects in the USA is vast. In times of trouble they sprout like toadstools in forests after rains. Astrology, spiritualism, fortunetelling, witchcraft, Satanism, etc. There is the Korean Sun Myung Moon’s Unification Church. Moon is the Messiah of thousands of misled young people who abandon their families to donate work, collect money for Rev. Moon who preaches ascetism while he lives in oriental luxury. His industrial conglomerate in Korea earns him over $ 15 million, his New York real-estates net him $ 11 million a year and for some mysterious reason are tax-free. Scientology and Mind Dynamics are American concoctions sprung from the brain of L. Ron Hubbard like Goddess Minerva from the head of her father, Jupiter. Hubbard’s group conditions members to believe that opponents of Scientology might be killed. Former members did die mysteriously, opponents were harrassed. Hubbard’s weekly income is $ 140.000. Good business! These and similar occult sects pose as patriots. They preach a holy crusade against socialist countries, covertly are dedicated to the destruction of democracy in the USA. They try to win over the youth with quick magic cures of their problems and with other false promises. Most of these cults are the instruments of hidden powerful circles. They receive financial and other support as did Hitler and his Nazis from Hjalraar Schacht, President, German Reichs Bank, Georg: von Schnitzler, Director of’F.G. Farben Chemical Cartel, Alfred Krupp, armament king, the German General Staff, including among other high officers General Ludendorf, Marshal Hindenburg, last President of the Weimar Republic, without whose, and outside help, the Nazis would not have gained power. Hitler’s paranoic dream of a millenial Teutonic world was smashed, fortunately, by the Allies. Dusty Sklar’s book proves that occultism with its utopian false promises can easily mislead the nation, mostly our youth, in an age of constantly rising unemployment, inflation and unchecked governmental corruption dedicated to serve the interests of cartels, the Pentagon, at the expense of the people, especially of those on the poverty level, or on the verge of it. All these sects, movements demand blind obedience to a Messiahnic leader. Moreover, in a crisis, they merge, reveal brazenly that they were, and are, the cohorts of fascism. In conclusion: if a mediocre crooner, like Elvis Presley, has the charisma /due to mass-media publicity/ to attract thousands of young and mature people to his grave, covering his tomb with flowers and tears as if it was an altar, what immense power could have a Pentagon, monopoly and mass-media- supported Messiah. The progressive forces have the obligation to expose and discredit these overt and clandestine cults in the service and pay of the darkest reactionary circles. SZOLNOK The county town of Szolnok is today a fair-sized city with an urban look to it; its pleasant parks and bathing places along the River Tisza make it a holiday resort as well. The inner city, the Taban, still has the same winding pattern of streets as in Turkish times. The János Damjanich Museum /named after a general of the 1848-49 War of Independence/ houses valuable archeological, historical and folk art exhibits. The Franciscan Church on the banks of the Tisza was built in Baroque style in the 18th century. Szolnok is famous for its thermal baths; the waters have outstanding therapeutic properties. The four baths are recommended against rheumatic complaints, gynaecological disorders and some o- thers. Spier Miss Sklar’s book acquaints us not only with the roots of fascism, but gives us an insight into the seemingly innocuous occult sects in whose nests are hatched the bacteria of fascism. The book is well researched and documented, showing the connection between the occult and the rise of Nazism, is written in a simple, interesting style so that the average reader can easily understand it. I found it not merely informative, but fascinating- ,
