REFORMÁTUSOK LAPJA 11 your indescribable love, love beyond words which burns even in your thoughts? Can you cry before Him? Can you rejoice in Him? Can you get warm, enthusiastic, high spirited for His sake? Can you believe in Him? Are you in Him? Test it: Did you make peace with your old enemy? Will you forgive him and ask forgiveness of him? Will you see in him the little ones, the poor, the miserable whom He attracts to Himself so that He may entrust you with them? Did you walk the second mile, tear up even your underclothes? Did you disperse even the two pennies of the poor woman? And did you pour upon His head the ointment of spikenard out of your broken alabaster? — Can you love in Him? Are you in Him? Do you feel that He is not only a traveling companion, but the new and great stream of life itself! Are you experiencing that He is rolling your boat to the happy island of the happy oceans? Do you feel that you are in His power? That it is He who rescues you from fire and water, from sickness and death? Do you profess, do you make known that everything is solved, every secret is revealed, that the roads are reaching their goals and that hopes find their fulfillment in Him? Are you flying with Him there where His will goes, and are you gliding uninterruptedly toward Him, out of the vanishing gaudiness of this material world, like the eagle in the light, the swallow in spring, the sea-gull in tempest, and like ashes in fire? Can you hope in Him? And this shall be a sign unto you: Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. Say in great quietude: I have found this babe. ☆ ☆ HUNGARIAN CHRISTMAS HYMNS Translated by Mrs. Julianna Toth Krisztus Urunknak Áldott Születésén (Rhythmic-version) This blessed day when Christ, our Savior was born, We will sing praises like the angels that morn, Who o’er the fields of Bethlehem were winging, Joyfully singing: “Glory to God be in the highest heaven!
