Pecsők János 100 A 70 éves clevelandi Első Magyar Református Egyház első főgondnoka, a 96-ik évében járó Pecsők János bácsi 100 dollár adományt küldött a Reformátusok Lapján keresztül a három teológiai szeminárium javára. Pecsők bácsi, ki még most is dolgozik, mint kertész a hétközi napokon, vasárnap pedig el nem mulasztaná az Isten házát, a következő levelet kapta Dr. L. W. Goebel, közegyházunk volt elnökétől, a United Seminary Appeal vezetőjétől: Dear Mr. Pecsők: It has been brought to my attention that in response to an appeal, by Dr. László Harangi, published in the Reformátusok Lapja, you have contributed the very generous sum of $100.00 to the United Seminary Appeal. For this your gift and for the spirit which prompted you I would most heartily thank you and praise God. Through Dr. Harangi I have also learned that, though you are 96 years old, you still find your way regularly into God’s house on Sundays. I know also that your present pastor, Dr. Stephen Szabó, each Sunday provides you with that bread of life through which your faith is deepened and your love for God’s church is quickened. If this were not so, you would not have given so generous a sum, as a memorial for your parents and your wife, so that in the future also others may hear the good news of the gospel preached. I understand that despite your advanced age you are still able to work as a gardener in a nursery. God has been good to you in giving you good health. Above all, he has blessed you with an active faith and a wondrous hope of life that shall endure forever. May the same God make his loving presence felt by your in all the days you may still continue to serve him in his church here in time.
