János köny­vei közül épen azért vettem be egyet a többi közé, hogy észreveszitek-é, melyik az ő evangé­liuma, és hol vannak a levelei. Csák ezt az egyet tévesztetted el, de azért a nevedet beletettem a kalapomba. Igaz, hogy bene is maradt a ka­lapban, de ha szorgalmasan olvasod tovább is a Gyermek Kertet, és beküldőd a megfejtést, a tiedet is rövidesen kihúzzuk. — Antal Árpád, Vin- tondale, Pa. Mikor csináltok már egy jó bibliai rejtvény? AZ IFJÚSÁG KÖRÉBŐL. C. E. Topic for April 17. “PUTTING PURPOSE INTO LIFE.” Phil. 3:12-16. A ship could not be steared across the ocean without a rudder. This rudder does not drive the ship, but is absolutely essential to give direction. There are many people in the world who just live, without any definite purpose, except those that can be classed as animal instincts. The man who has a definite purpose may not always achieve it, yet he makes his mark. Louis Kossuth lived for a purpose — he failed to achieve it, yet we all honor him and we know that he did not live in vain. This, not because he failed, but because he had a purpose. Jesus came into the world to draw all men unti Himself. This object has not been achieved yet, and if it is to be achieved we must make the pur­pose of Jesus our own. How can we serve this best in our Magyar churches? Our fathers who built us these churches had many excellent qualities: their simple faith — love for the church — moral up­rightness, etc. In some other things they were de­ficient. It is not for us to blame them, but for us to rise above them. If there is no growth, no advance, there is no life in us. Let us, each and every one, have an individual purpose to make each life count for the most; but let us also have a community purpose to make the life of our group count for the most. Young people in our Magyar churches should understand that their individual mem­bership and oentribution is absolutely essential if our churches are to advance in the right direction. Young people should show more interest in Missions, than the older folks have done. We all work for Christ through the church; we all should work in our re­spective spheres to make better living conditions, a better world. Are these purposes clear cut in our life? For discussion: 1. Would it be a good thing for' our Magyar churches to adopt the envelope system for benevolent and congregational giving? IFJÚSÁGI KONFERENCIA TOLEDÓBAN. ÁPRILIS 17-ÉN, VASÁRNAP. Dear Christian Endeavor Members: We have just been informed by our pastor, the Rev. Charles Krivulka, that the Rev. Egry, President of our Christian Endeavor, states in the proposed program for our conference on April 17th at Pittsburgh, that one of the im­portant subjects to be discussed is, “Shall there be any more Christian Endeavor Conferences in our Pittsburgh District?” Our President may have some good reasons to present this subject before the conference, but personally I am at a loss to understand what would prompt him even to place this sub­ject for open discussion as it has been my boast that the Magyars are never quitters, and if we permit ourselves to even think of debating this subject we will expose what may be called the Christian weakness and place ourselves to open criticism before other Magyar C.
