Hand-Painted Porcelain Set - Royal Present from Hungary The son of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, was born on 22 July 2013 in London. He is the couple’s first child, as well as the first grandchild of Charles, Prince of Wales. He is third in line to succeed his great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, after his grandfather and father. Now in a wonderful gesture to commemorate the event of a new generation of English Royalty, Herend has taken the time to create a unique and highly collectable baby set. The collection is a table set that comes with a bowl, plate and cup, Fairy Tooth box and a baby shoe. Each of the items is gift boxed and each is inscribed in blue, along with the date of birth of the new Royal Prince. A complete set was presented to the Royal couple by János Áder the President of Hungary along with a congratulation letter. Church members served favorites such as stuffed cabbage, lamb goulash, langos and pastries to a steady crowd, akron.com Adalbert Fenyes entomologist collection on display in Pasadena Museum of History This entomology illustration from Adalbert Fenyes’ (M.D. 1863-1937) papers depicts a beetle vaguely similar in appearance to the species he named for his wife Eva Scott Fenyes. The postcard illustrates the fun his family and friends enjoyed when they acknowledged his endearing lifelong pursuit of collecting beetle specimens from around the world. But, for Adalbert Fenyes, beetle collecting was not a mere gentleman’s hobby. His study of beetles was serious science, and his contributions were significant. His specimen collection resides today at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco and retains contemporary importance. In his day, Adalbert experimented with beetles in his insectorium and applied his findings to agricultural pest control. His advice to local citrus growers regarding the red spider pest was this, “Spraying is foolish. It kills the red spider but it also kills the beetle that feeds on the red spider...” He recommended nurturing a beneficial beetle population by cultivating, between the rows of trees, corn on which the beetles would thrive.
