All the City and County dignitaries - most of them good friends of Andrew and the Jewish as well as the Hungarian communities - were present, as shown in our pictures of the event. This year’s honorees were United States Marshal David Singer and Podiatrist Dr. Arnold Ross. Dr. Friedman himself was also the recipient of an award. Among the speakers, the Consul General of Hungary, Dr. László Kálmán took the podium to discuss Prime Minister Orbán’s policy of “zero tolerance” regarding manifestations of anti-Semitism, racism, or any other kind of discrimination. It was interesting to note that there were so many Hungarian attendees it seemed they outnumbered the Americans. Bais Naftoli founder Andrew Friedman, City Attorney-Elect Mike Feuer, City Councilman Paul Koretz and L.A. City Controller Wendy Greuel on the podium.
