VOL. XLVIII. l/uvuitjlBLiv i«7,—id6i). 51 NUMBER 24. FAREWELL............HAIL This is the final issue of our official organ in its newspaper form and as a monthly publication. Hereafter, the WILLIAM PENN will appear in magazine format and will be published quarterly, that is, in February, May, August and November, and the publication dates will be the middle of the month. Although the WILLIAM PENN will continue to be published in both languages, English and Hungarian, and bear the same publication date, English language subscribers will receive English copies only while Hungarian language subscribers will receive combined English-Hungai’ian copies. The fraternal aspect of the new WILLIAM PENN will not be affected by its changed physical form. Branch and Association events, official information and notices, news, pictures, individual and collective items of interest, etc. will continue as heretofore. Content improvements, to match the new look, will be welcomed. The membership has for many years been enjoying and utilizing our official publication without subscription charge. Ever rising costs have made publication of the WILLIAM PENN a serious financial strain on the Association. Several attempts were made in the past to meet this threat by limiting the number of pages and widening the publication dates. Nw the nr.' magazine f J TAM PENNr consolidated and with fewer publication dajes, is the answer to our search for an economic solution. THE CHRISTMAS AHEAD Christmas is only days away. This year it falls on Saturday and those who are lucky enough to have Christmas Eve as a holiday — that will make for a nice week end for millions. As for your annual shopping — and all of us have some of this to do — the time left is short. We should like once again to express our sentiment about the over-commercialization of Christmas. In selecting presents, do not attempt to outspend friends or relatives and do not worry about the cost of your gift. Best of all, if you can make something that will be suitable as a gift, or several, for others, this is perhaps the best way to achieve the real Christmas spirit. Adults should remember that Christmas is a time for children — as far as the mystic and the wonder and the magic of the day is concerned. It is a day of spiritual reflection and observance for adults, and it need not be glittery or luxurious. Enjoy Christmas in 1965.
