Delicious food and fine goodies were prepared and served by the tireless women workers, who were undaunted by the tush to get to their wares, naturally by early nightfall all the food had been consumed, and those who came late could not enjoy the fine cooking. Music was furnished by Alex Godla and his orchestra. Branch 18 through the grace of God had 16 50-Year Members, many of them, unfortunately, could not attend the festivities because of illness or other impairments. Only three appeared who were greeted and congratulated in turn by Branch President John Veszprémi, Gáspár Papp, Chairman of the National Auditing Committee, Martin Marton, Vice President of the Branch and Stephen Úsztok, Division Manager. The banquet which celebrated the successful season was prepared in expert manner by Ang-Els, and the only other business left was the presentation of prize money. As the season was divided into halves, Peg and Steve Sándor were the first half winners, Marge Bunchy and Tom Graham the second half winners. First half showed Mike Tomcsak, Steve Sándor, Steve Novak making high average, high set and high game. As for the women, Valerie Lenton, Mary Tomcsak and Mary Hubert gained honors. The second half showed some new winners with honors going to Margaret Bunchy, along with Steve Chery and Tom Graham. Most improved bowler awards went to Imre Magyar and Irene Nemeth. Our thanks to McGuffey Lanes for its donation. The league voted to return next season to McGuffey Lanes. Anyone interested in bowling with us next season should contact Mike Tomcsak at SW 9-2764.
