At 5 o’clock in the afternoon awards for 25 years of faithful serv­ice were presented to Branch 14 mem­bers Edward Torda, vice president, and Daniel Kali, controller, by Cle­veland Director Dr. Andrew Kovács and National Controller John Sabo, respectively. This was followed by the presen­tation of the 50-Year Member Em­blem to Bertrand Marki and to Ste­phen Nemeth. Fraternally, STEPHEN SZAPPANOS Secretary DETROIT, Michigan HARVEST FESTIVAL REPORT As reported minutely in the Au­gust issue of the WILLIAM PENN, the HARVEST FESTIVAL AND DIAMOND JUBILEE RÁKÓCZI DAY held August 4th at the Ma­gyar Park near Estral Beach was extremely successful. Rather than list the committees’ names separately (since they worked on more than one committee), the entire roster of workers, guests, names of those who donated prizes, and a complete list of- out-of-town guests will fol­low : There was a Kitchen Committee, Purchasing Committee, Committees which did the following: Bar, Park­ing, Gate Sales, Advance Sales, Hand­bill and Poster Committees, Publi­city, Sale of Lunch Tickets, First Aid (Joseph Demeter was the first and only casualty — he was putting up road signs in the early morning and the door slammed on his hand, putting him “not quite” out of com­mission) ; there was a Clean-Up Squad, last minute purchases during (Continued on page 5)
