We are quite proud that these two excellent students are members of Branch 13 and our wish for con­tinued success goes to them. M CLEVELAND, Ohio The Branch Meeting was held on August 7th and a detailed discus­sion was held regarding the branch picnic which will be held at Kalo Farm, 25813 Forbes Rd., Bedford, Ohio on Sunday, August 25th. All the families and friends of the members of Branch 14 and sur­rounding branches are cordially in­vited to attend. The Committee will make certain that the guests will be provided with all the desirable trimmings of a summer outing to make this occasion a memorable one. Maryann graduated as the first in her class of the eighth grade. She lives at 6363 Sheridan Rd., Chicago. Marika, a native of Braunau, Austria, has won three scholarships: 1. Mundelein Liberal Arts Scholar­ship; 2. Illinois State Scholarship; 3. Mayor Daley .Youth Foundation Scholarship. Her home is at 612 W. Dakolete Ave., Chicago. We congratulate Maryann and Marika and wish them future scho­lastic successes 9 HAZLETON, Pennsylvania The Ladies’ Auxiliary of Branch 9 held its annual children’s outing July 30 at Angela Park Grove in Butler Valley. Twenty-five youngsters accom­panied by their parents enjoyed the festivities which included refresh­ments, games and free amusement rides throughout the evening. The committee for this affair was headed by Auxiliary president Mrs. Helen M. Nemeth, manager of Branch 9, who was assisted by Mrs. Florence Krupa, Mrs. Rita Kopachy, Mrs. Jenny Kopachy, Mrs. Joan Be­­ozzo and Mrs. Carmella Fogarty. Kremper were the happy recipients of the Annual Scholarship awards recently given by the Trenton Ame­rican Hungarian Civic Association at a festival held at the Trenton Country Club. Joleen is a graduate of Hamilton High School East. She is interested in a teaching career and will enter Glassborough State Teachers College this fall. TRENTON, New Jersey Joleen M. Radvany At the picnic, Mr. Edward Tor­­da and Mr. Daniel Rally will be presented with the Board of Direc­tors Citation in honor of their 25 years of faithful service to our As­sociation. The citations to the Golden Anniversary members will also be presented. The next branch meeting will be held on Sunday, September 1st at 3:00 p.m. in the St. Stephen Club Hall. Preparations will be made at this meeting for the Branch Festival which will be held on Saturday, Oc­tober 12th. Stephen Szappanos IQ NEW BRUNSWICK, New Jersey On August 11th, Branch 19 of New Brunswick, N. J. held a picnic in commemoration of the 75th Anni­versary of the founding of the for­mer Rákóczi Aid Association. The surrounding New Jersey Branches also participated in the picnic, and many members and friends from out of state also attended. Buses trans­ported about 60 people from Bridge­port and other areas in Connecticut, and also many people from Trenton, N. J., Perth Amboy, N. J., Passaic, N. J., Philadelphia, Pa. and New York. The picnic celebration was a very successful event! Its success was due to the leadership of Michael Hegedűs, President of the branch and a mem­ber of the Auditing Committee; with the cooperation of the branch of­ficers and the lady members of the branch. About 20 Delegates who will par­ticipate in our XXV-th Convention were present. Also attending the celebration were the following: Chairman of the Board and First Vice President Louis Varga, Second Vice President Julius Lenart. Di­rectors Michael Faczan, Frank Rad­vany, Albert Ibos and local Director Joseph Kormondy. President Julius Macker greeted the gathering in.Hungarian and Se­cretary Albert Stelkovics spoke in English. The various guests were introduced by Director Kormondy. All those who attended had a grand time, and ft was an event that will be long remembered by the membership and friends. Ol CHICAGO, “* Illinois Mr. and Mrs Stephen Szilagyi, 11829 Parnell, Chicago, recently celebrated their golden wedding. The Szilagyis are the parents of Joseph, Harvey and Barney Szilagyi and the late Stephen Szilagyi and Daniel Szilagyi, and their grand­children are Daniel (son of Stephen), Bernard, Betty and Claudia (children of Barney).
