O JOHNSTOWN, ^ Pennsylvania Hello William Penners: Just a few notes to let you know that we are very much alive here in the Friendly City of Johnstown, Pa. Practically the whole league in­vaded the premises of the Casa Loma Lanes to help the boys and our very good friends from Mc­Keesport launch their Third Annual Tri State bowling tournament. The boys should be commended for a wonderful tournament and dinner that was served. We are always happy to exchange greetings with our fraternal friends from the va­rious towns, and the Officers of the Home Office. We wish to congratulate the danc­ing group and their teachers for the wonderful entertainment they pro­vided for the visiting bowlers. You were wonderful kids! * * * Our Social Calender for the com­ing year contains: an afternoon outing for the Junior Bowling and Dance Groups sometime in June, with parents invited; the annual Branch Picnic in July; the annual Mixed Team Tournament August 24, 1963; the annual Grape Festival dance October 19, 1963 and the Children’s Xmas Party in December. * sk * The Junior Bowling League will have finished their regular season and the Juniors are anticipating the coming of the District Junior Bowl­ing Tournanment. They had a very successful season on which we will report next month with pictures. Here, once again, we ask the pa­rents to please attend the Branch meetings, whether you are a mem­ber or not, just to see how an ac­tive fraternal association really operates. Who knows, you may want to become an active member your­self. We say, if it is good for your child, it surely would be just dandy for you. So, how about coming to visit us. We meet every second Sun­day of the month at St. Emerich’s Church Hall, Cambria City. MICHAEL DURAY, Reporter. TRENTON, New Jersey The Officers of Branch 13, Tren­ton, N. J. hereby notify all adult members of the Branch that the Pre-Convention District meeting for the purpose of electing Convention Delegates will be held Sunday, June 9, 1963 at 2 P.M. in the Reformed Church School. It is the duty and obligation of each Branch member to attend this important meeting and with his vote elect the delegates to represent us at the Convention. * * * At the April Branch Meeting it was resolved by the Members that Branch 13 will also join with the other Jersey Branches in participat­ing in the Jersey William Penn Day to be held in New Brunswick, N- J. A donation of $10 was voted to the Ameriean-Hungarian Studies Foun­dation. John Hegedűs, Reporter * * The 18th meeting of Branch 13 Ladies Auxiliary was held April 17, 1963. Elizabeth Vágott was welcomed as a new member, there were 13 members present. Elsie Radvany, Secretary gave final details on the proposed bus trip to New York. After the regular business meeting ended, the officers resigned and thanked everyone for their kind cooperation during the two years they had served in office. The newly elected President is: Margaret Veres, Vice President: Mary Revesz. Elsie Radvany was reelected Secretary who accepted the honor of serving the Ladies for two more years. Mary Dobos was elected treasurer and publicity representative is Mar­garet Kovács. The newly elected of­ficers vowed to do their best work for the welfare of the Ladies Aux­iliary. Following the election a most enjoyable social was held. Elsie Radvany, Secretary DETROIT, Michigan GOLDEN WEDDING ANNIVERSARY Emery Bagoly and his wife, nee Elizabeth Novak, celebrated their Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary on March 24th at a party arranged by their four daughters. ..The Bagolys were married in Ra­­mocsahaza, County of Szabolcs in Hungary on March 25, 1913. They left their native land in 1914 and settled in Winburne, Pennsylvania. In 1929 they moved to Detroit, Mi­chigan where member Bagoly was employed by the City of Detroit during the past 17 years. Their four daughters are: Mrs. William (Rose) Reutlinger, Mrs. Joseph (Margaret) Buday, Mrs. Harry (Helen) Bond and Mrs. Al­bert (Priscilla) Gyuricza. The cele­brants have 9 grandchildren. Many relatives and friends attended this anniversary celebration bringing beautiful gifts and congratulations galore. Member Bagoly joined our As­sociation in 1915 and is a member of Branch 18, along with two of his daughters and 1 grandchild. We too, wish to join the throng of well-wishers and extend our sincere good wishes for good health and happiness in the future! * * CHILDRENS DAY The annual Children’s Day Picnic, with games, prizes and free re­freshments will be held again this year on Sunday, June 23rd at the Magyar Park near Estral Beach. There will be the usual games and races for both boys and girls, like finding money-in-sawdust, pie eat­ing contest, etc., etc. The children will receive potato chips, ice cream and pop free of charge. For grown­ups and children too, hot dogs will be on sale ,stuffed cabbage and Hungarian gulyás; also home-made doughnuts (fank) will be furnished by members of the Ladies’ Auxiliary. Mr. Steve Csabi will make the gu­lyás as in the past. All those mem­bers who have birthdays in the month of June, and who attend this picnic, will be honored at this oc­casion. Admission is free of charge for this all day Picnic for both adults and children. Bring your friends for a gala day — SUNDAY, JUNE 23rd at the MAGYAR PARK. * * * HARVEST PICNIC and RÁKÓCZI DAY An old-time Harvest Festival will be held on Sunday, August 4th in Magyar Park. Details will be forth­coming in a future issue, but we can already tell you that President Julius Macker and Secretary Albert J. Stel­­kovics will be among the honored guests on this day. * * * LADIES’ AUXILIARY CARD PARTY Join us for the last card party of this season — on Sunday, May 19th at 2 p.m. in the Magyar Hall, 8005 West Jefferson. Remember too, the regular monthly meetings of Ladies’ Auxiliary are held the first Wednesday evening of each month in the Magyar Hall at 7:30 p.m. * :£ * LADIES’ AUXILIARY COOK BOOK There are still plenty of Cook Books available. The bus will leave Toledo on Friday, May 31st about 6 p.m. For full details, contact this writer. * * * DISTRICT SESSION MEETING The pre-convention District Ses­sion will be held on Sunday, June 9th at 3 p.m. to elect Delegates to the coming Convention to be held September 9, 1963. New York City, here we come — by bus train, cars and some by plane! Bert and Pearl Molnár are up in the air these days, — their twin son, Gerry just received his appoint­ment to West Point Academy. Gerry is a member of Branch 27 and was on the State championship football team from Central Catholic High School, along with his twin brother Jimmy. Congratulations and good luck to the Molnars. DISTRICT SESSION — OHIO DISTRICT NO. 4 The pre-convention District Ses­sion meeting will be held in St. Ste­phen’s School basement on Sunday, June 9, 1963 at 3 p.m. We would like to see a large number in attendance. Come and exercise your right to vote for the convention delegate of your choice. We will be voting for 2 delegates. BRANCH 27 MEETING There will be no Branch meeting the first Sunday of June because of the trip to New York City for the Bowling Tournament. Eifective with July 7th, the meet­ing place for Branch 27 will be held in the old Holy Rosary Hall on York Street, and meeting time is 3 p.m. sharp.
