After considerable debate, however, the Board resolves that it can not comply with this request, as it does not desire to change a previously adopted resolution in this matter. b) The Board directs the President to notify all branches which are serv­iced through a district office that they must pay their proportionate share of the office expenses not reimbursed by the Home Office, as determined by the President, based on membership. This amount shall be deducted from the 5 and 10-cent branch fees before these collected branch fees are turned over by the district office to the branch. c) The Report of Treasurer Somogyi and the Report of Building Man­ager John L. Lovász are both now adopted by the Board. If). The Board commences detailed discussion of the Investment Manager’s Report, and the following actions are taken thereon: a) With reference to the request of Branch 18, Detroit, Michigan, for an addition to the'present office building to provide space for fraternal activities the Board denies the request. b) The request of Branch 130, East Chicago, Indiana, for financial as­sistance in building an office and social home is discussed by the Board. How­ever, the matter is referred back to the branch for further details. c) The Board reviews the financial transactions of the Investment Man­ager for the period of July 1, 1961 to December 31, 1961 and the same are approved by the Board. d) The Report of the Investment Manager is now adopted by the board. 20. The Board acknowledges greetings from the officers and members of Branch 249, Dayton, Ohio. 21. The Board now commences a detailed discussion of the Field Man­ager’s Report, and the following actions are taken thereon: a) The Board acknowledges the Field Manager’s explanation as to why he did not travel to California in January as directed by the last Board meeting. b) The Board reviews and acknowledges the appointments and discharges among the Field personnel. c) It is resolved by the Board that the Field Manager prepare a Manual of District Office Procedures, which Manual shall be used and followed uniformly in all District Offices of the Association. Stephen MAY THEY REST IN PEACE ! d) The Board discusses the recommendation of the Field Manager to offer an exchange option on Endowment policies prior to maturity date. After hearing, the Actuary’s viewpoints on the subject matter, it is resolved by the Board that this request of the Field Manager be granted. e) The Board is appreciative of the fact that the official publication is being used to describe the various types of certificates being sold by the Association. f) The Board approves the request of Field Manager Charles to prepare and put into use at the district offices a Mode of Payment Change form, to be signed by the member when he desires to change his usual mode of payment. g) The Report of the Field Manager, having been discussed in its entirety, is now adopted by the Board, as amended. 22. Robert E. Bruce, Actuary, makes his Report to the Board. The .Report is discussed in detail and all questions addressed to the Actuary by the Board members are answered to everyone’s satisfaction. The Report of the Actuary is then accepted in its entirety by the Board. 23. In order to bring our Accident & Health portfolio up to date In the State of New Jersey, it is resolved by the Board that the proper A & H Plans, No. 26-Defender and No. 27-Special Risk, be prepared by the Actuary for submission to the New Jersey Insurance Department for approval. After approval has been received for sale of these policies in New Jersey, the new Plans should be introduced to the Field Force in that area. 24. The Board now considers a letter received from Branch 249, Dayton, Ohio, requesting that Dividend Additional Term Insurance (D.A.T.I.) be paid in cash to members instead of as Term Insurance. The Board acknowledges the lettfer but regrets that it can not comply with this request. 25. The Board now commences detailed discussion of the proposed Budget for 1962. Each Department’s budget is discussed item by item. The Budget is adopted in its entirety as proposed. 26. The Board acknowledges telephone greetings from Honorary Pres­ident John Bencze who could not appear in person on account of his wife’s recent operation. 27. The next item of the Agenda to be discussed is that of the American- Hungarian Federation. President Macker presents a written report on the events which transpired at the Federation’s convention in Philadephia on March 2, 1962, which he attended together with Director Albert B.
