BULLETIN As this English issue goes to press we have learned from the MAGYAR BÁNYÁSZLAP (HUNGARIAN MINER’S JOURNAL) that Martin Himler, editor, former publisher of our official organ, and very well-known man in-Hungarian-American life, died July 8, 1%1 in Los Angeles, California. NOTICE TO BRANCH OFFICERS It is my request, as Editor of the WILLIAM PENN, that at their nearest opportunity, all branches appoint or elect qualified members as official branch reporters for the purpose of giving branch news and other publicity in our official organ, not only doing this for the branches but for the fraternal and social interests of the society as a whole. Since these branch reporters (called also “publicity agents,” etc.) would enjoy official branch sanction and status, their writings would more seriously reflect the views and policies of their respective branches, as is already true at such branches which even now function with official branch reporters and writers. It is unfortunate when a fine William Penn branch affair or event goes unreported. This would not happen were all the branches to have qualified and conscientious branch reporters performing their duties officially. While the fulfillment of this request is highly advisable, it does in no way take away from the Editor and his staff the right, and often necessity, of acting editorially for the good of our official organ and the welfare of the Association. — JULIUS MACKER President Ledger Assets— APRIL, 1961 Bonds ......................................................................................................$ Stocks ........................................................................................................
