“YOU ARE ALL INVITED/’ SAYS THE WILLIAM PENN PAGE 12 William Penn May 21, 1958 I FRANK FÖLDI TAKEN BY DEATH | it is with deep sorrow that we inform our membership of the passing of Frank Földi, member of the Auditing Committee, who died April 30, 1958 after eight days in the Shadyside Hospital while in Pittsburgh at the semiannual audit of the Home Office. The body was removed to Chicago, Illinois, home of Mr. Földi since his coming to this country in 1913 and until his retirement in Florida a few years ago. He was a native of Budapest, Hungary. Many floral tributes and a large gathering of mourners attested to the popularity of the late Auditing Committee Member at services held Saturday May 3d at 1:30 p.m. from the Hollerbach Funeral Home, owned and operated by friends and fellow William Penn members of the deceased. Hymns were sung by Mrs. Russ before and after the funeral oration delivered by National President Coloman Revesz who, flanked on the right by National Secretary Albert J. Stelkovics, Director Andrew Fejes of Chicago and retired National Treasurer John Szalanczy, and on the left by Auditing Committee Chairman Caspar Papp, Chicago Branch 129-R Manager William Kopnick and Chicago District Manager Ernest C. Taylor, spoke in the name of the William Penn Fraternal Association, its Directors, Officers and Membership, and expressed the respect and sympathies of all the friends, newspapers and societies with whom and which Mr. Földi had enjoyed an extensive association and relationship. Mr. Revesz, Mr. Stelkovics, Mr. Fejes and Mr. Papp were officially present. Masonic rites were held by MITHRA Lodge AFAM #410 of which Mr. Földi was a member for 30 years. Mason Ernest Schoenfeld conducted the services both at the funeral home and at the Acacia Cemetery where burial took place. Survivors include the widow', a son and four grandchildren. Frank Földi was an active fraternalist of long standing. For years he was Secretary of Chicago Branch 141 of the Rákóczi Aid Association, was Chairman of the 1947 and 1951 Rákóczi Conventions, worked to effect the Rakoczi-Verhovay merger, and until his death was on the Auditing Committee. Ivancso ,The time has arrived for our annual fraternal get-together, and the fine city of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia, is our host. Toledo will be well represented to continue its winning ways, not only as to scores but to meet friends from over all the country and reminisce. This true fraternal spirit shall prevail Memorial Day week end. It seems the changeable weather is here, adding to the sick list. Mary Weintraub spent a few days in the hospital but, at this writing, is honeymooning with her captain husband. Congratulations, Mary. Steve Kovács of Reinick Drive is home after a short hospitalization. Steve is on a diet, and, if I know Steve, he is not too happy about it. Joseph Rasi stopped at the office the other day for a short chat. Truly the long winter illnesses have slowed this grand old man of 83 to a practical halt. He says he wants to get around as he used to, but his aching bones will not cooperate. Speedy recovery, Mr. Rasi, and we hope to see you at our future meetings. Andrew Sobeck of Temperance, Michigan is on the ailing list, also Mrs. Martin Ivan of Curtice, Ohio and Stephen Pusztai of Bates Road, Perrysburg. I received a card from Paul Lajti, Jr. and his lovely wife Sharon. They were on their “honeymoon” in Miami, Florida. Both looked well tanned and happy on their return home. Julieann Lajti, charming daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Lajti of Seamon Road, gave us some pleasant news the other day. Juliean became engaged to Donald Durczynski, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Durczynski of West Toledo. Congratulations, Julieann. To the members of former Branch 227-V recently tranferred to Branch 27-V: Kindly write your correct addresses on the return envelopes. Up to now, I have found some addresses incorrect, post marked “Address Unknown.” Robert Kovach, the barber, has a nice new sign on his window. Now the place is known as “Bob’s Barber Shop.” Hair cuts remain the same, only now you get more news on the Cleveland Indians and their baseball progress. Bob’s brother-in-law, Steve “Bits” Alex, celebrated his 50th birthday Saturday. Steve looks 40 and says he feels like 30. What more can a man ask? Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Belegrin will celebrate Sue’s birthday (Mrs. Ernie) on their wedding anniversary on Memorial Day. Congratulations. Pudgy and Sue. Remember Dayton, the cake, and the lovely surprise we pulled on Sue? So long until next month.
