Building Committee Meets in Home Office Another important step was taken along the pathway of progress bv the William Penn Fraternal Association when the Building Committee, appointed bv the Board of Directors in September, had its first organizational meeting on December 2, 1957. The Committee consists of Messrs. Julius Macker and Louis' Varga, Vice Presidents, and Aloysius Falussy, Director. At this meeting Mr. Macker was elected Chairman, Mr. Varga as Secretary, with Richard J. Phillips. Investment Manager, as Executive Secretary. The Committee, together with the National Officers — Coloman Revesz, National President; Albert J. Stelkovics, National Secretary; John Sabo, National Auditor; Julius E Somogyi. National Treasurer; and Elmer Charles, Field Manager — spent a very intensive day interviewing apdntects and checking into all problems concerning the erection of the contemplated office building on land recently acquired by the Association. Representatives of a few of the finest architectural firms in the United States were interviewed and the benefit of their experience and knowledge was imparted to the Committee. However, no decision as to the commissioning of any of these architects was made as iinal action of the Committee will await an evaluation of certain studies which will be made between now and January 28, 1958. At that time a decision will undoubtedly be made whether or not to proceed further with the project and in what manner. The Committee is aware of the enormity of its decision and, therefore, is demoting the utmost attention to the task involved Of one thing we can be certain — that any decision rendered will be done so with due regard to the safety and protection of the assets of •the Association, and will be of far-reaching significance to the future of the William Penn Fraternal Association a:nd its members. From time to time we will report to our membership on new developments. * Officers at Meeting; Mr. Stelkovics Honored The Pennsylvania Fraternal Congress, largest state fraternal in The United States, numbering 70 fraternal societies and more than a million members, held its regular annual convention November 19-20, 1957 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
