Enjoy it while you can, for “serious” business starts next month — school, meetings, etcetera. — 76-V — One of our good friends in nearby Paulsboro, N. J., Margaret Wersits, celebrated a birthday on July 20th. The whole family are WILLIAM PENN members, and you’ll usually see them at most Hungarian gatherings. Right now she’s instructing a Hungarian refugee couple in the intricacies of the English language. Congratulations! — 76-V — Joe Nagy, Jr., 17-year-old junior at Bordentown, N. J., High School on June 16th turned in two straight-heat victories in the West End Boat Club’s annual regatta on the lower Delaware River in Chester, Pa. Good luck, Joe! _ 76-V — The WHITE PAPER created by the United Nations Special Committee on the October-November Hungarian situation is now available in print. We hope every American-Hungarian will get it and read it. It will be a valuable addition to any library. — 76-V — Louis Sima, son of our long-time member GUSTAVE SIMA, 611 Robbins Avenue, was involved in a street car accident with his automobile on July 20th. He and three of the trolley car passengers required hospital treatment, but all are now improved. — 76-V — The U. S. Post Office Department announces that LOUIS KOSSUTH, Hungarian patriot of 1848-49, will be honored on a postage stamp in the “hero” series which are now under consideration. Latch on, collectors! — 76-V — Mr. Emo Dohnanyi celebrated his 80th birthday in Florida on July 27th. He ..has a master piano group at Florida University and does compose in his spare time. Mr. Dohnanyi is perhaps best remembered for his “Ruralia Hungarica.” — 76-V — The 37th anniversary of the TRIANON Treaty was brought to mind on June 4th. This Treaty divested Hungary of about two-thirds of its land and about 60% of its peoples. Not a pleasant thought for any people. Where will it all end ? _ 76-V — On June 12th Dr. Bela Schick celebrated his 80th birthday. Dr. Schick was the discoverer of the Schick Test for susceptibility to diptheria, which saved millions of children’s lives, a world ■ authority on scarlet fever and tuberculosis, and co-founder of the science of allergy. — 76-V — I received a nice letter and postage stamps from Budapest, Hungary, from someone who is also a Horvath. His name is Pechy Horvath Rezső. He collects new and used postage stamps and writes novels, too. He has written 26 so far, and if you are interested in Hungarian novels, write to me, and I’ll pass along his name and address. Mr. Pechy-Horvath got my name and address from a copy of WILLIAM PENN which reached there in some way. Thank you, Mr. Pechy-Horvath. Write again. — 76-V — Then I received a nice letter from Mr. Louis Kasas. He is looking for one of his relatives in Philadelphia, one by the name of Otto Kniszli. Mr. Kniszli escaped in 1944 from Jugoslavia and is supposed to be in Philadelphia, having been here for possibly 5 or 6 years. I have been unable to learn of Mr. Kniszli’s whereabouts, and I would appreciate it immensely if someone who does know where he might be would have him get in touch with me, or ask him to please write to me or visit me. Let’s do everything possible in the Philadelphia area to help Mr. Kasas. — 76-V — Before I forget it again, I would like to appraise our members that the Home Office is seeking a full-time Manager for the Delaware Valley area — Philadelphia included. The applicant should speak English well and some Hungarian, and be between the ages of 21-39. The pay is good, the work starts immediately, and progress depends only upon the initiative and aggressiveness of the one chosen. All those persons who might be interested in such a lucrative position can do themselves a favor by writing to Mr. Elmer Charles, 436 Fourth Ave., Pittsburgh 19, Pa. — 76-V — Those who collect phonograph records might be interested in the two new records listed below: Antal Dorati conducts a symphony orchestra, under the Mercury label, playing works of Kodály and Bartók. The Hary Janos Suite is featured on one side of the record. Toni Köves plays the cimbalom. The other record is an Angel record. Janos Starker plays the Dvorak Cello Concerto. He is 33 years old and has been playing with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra since 1953. _ 76-V — Insurance policies are eagerly sought by the localites in WILLIAM PENN.
