PAGE 8 May 15, 1957 Willie m Penn FLOOD CITY NEWS BRANCH 8-V JOHNSTOWN, PA. By STEPHEN PETRUSKA May at last. A memorial month for William Penn members who by car, train, bus and plane head for the Tournament-Fellowship Days, which this year is the 14th such affair and will be held in Dayton, Ohio. Old friends will again meet and greet one another in the spirit of true William Penn Fraternalism. The Tournament-Fellowship Days is the grandest festival of our Association. Branch 8-V’s four teams will be accompanied by their president, Frank Dudash, Sr., with his wife. Teams representing Branch 8-V, of Johnstown, Penna., are as follows: Kassa Team: Emery Boroski, Captain, Michael Duray, Anthony Karwoski, Ronald Boroski and Charles Nagy. Johnstown Cement Finishers’ Team: Mike Havrilla, Captain, Henry Bachik, Joseph Madarasz, Jr., Julius Petruska, and Steve Petruska. Branch 8-V Team: Dorothy Hegadus, Captain, Caroline Hegadus, Rosemary Bachik, Caroline Duray and Jane Karwoski (Sub. Frances Soos.) Branch 13S-R Team: Mrs. Michael Faczan, Captain, Ethel Faczan, Sylvia Faczan, Clara Király and Loretta Tobakos. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Mitas of 700 Maple Avenue, parents of a daughter on April 12. Mrs. Michael Faczan and daughter Ethel celebrated their birthdays in April. Many happy returns from friends and fellow bowlers. Emery Boroski, captain of the Kassa Bowling Team and member of the “700” Club, along with Michael Harchak, has been intructing approximately 150 Junior bowlers all season at the Capital Bowling Lanes. With Mr. Boroski’s expert instructions, Johstown should be turning out some really fine bowlers. Julius Petruska, who is stationed at Fort Knox, Ky., only a short distance from Dayton, Ohio, is hoping the Army Reserve will grant him leave so he may bowl with his team, the “Johnstown Cement Finishers”, at the 14th Annual Bowling Tournament. Traveling to Dayton in real class will be Joseph Madarasz Jr., who just recently purchased a luxurious built “Nash Rambler Station-Wagon” for the trip to the tournament. He will be accompanied by several members of our bowling league. May / you all have a safe and interesting journey. Congratulations: All beginners in the Branch 8-V Bowling League, who made such fine advancements this season. Branch 8-V wishes all the bowlers much success at hte Tournament.
