Medical dictionaries list an idiotsavant as a person without superior intellect and understanding who has some special facslty well developed such as memory, mathematics, or music. DO YOU KNOW? Many of the contestants on quizz programs appear to have hypermnesia, which is abnormal or extreme retentiveness of memory. DO YOU KNOW? The average length of life in the general population of Canada has increased to a new high of 70.1 years, practically identical with that of the United States. Finally, May is here in all it’s glory: the beautiful sunny days, green grass, and all the finery that spring and summer bring. It also brings, very much closer our National Fellowship Day and the Bowling Tournament. Even though the bowling season is almost over, I can hardly wait to make the trip to Dayton, Ohio for all the fun that is connected with our Tournament.. As I promised, I will give a brief report on our league action. It seems that we still have two more weeks to go but the championship is already decided for both the men and women in Branch 15-V’s League on Friday night. It is, however, a different story at the Moose Bowling League where many of the fellows bowl including yours truly. Here the league is very tight and only a difference of 34 games separate the first place team from the 4th place team. Charlie Stuparit’s two teams are closing in on the leaders. Team 3 is in second place and Team 2 in fourth place. x At this time I have to thank our good friend Charlie Restano, proprietor of the Furniture Store on 7158 W. Grand Avenue, where you can always go to get your furniture, rug and all household needs, plus a nice discount. We bowled them on Monday night and they were ahead of us by \ game, but when the shooting was all over we found that we had taken 3 games from the Restano boys and put them out of contention for all practical purposes. March 14th there came into this world a new Ciliak named Jean Maiié, her parents being Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Ciliak. Also, Margaret Mary Barna arrived on April 2d, weighing 8 lbs. 9 oz., to Andy and Betty Barna. Congratulations to these proud parents. Sometimes the “trade winds” take quite a while to reach me as in the case of Gabe Luksa who left the ranks of bachelors on January 12th, 1957. Congratulations to Gabe. Congratulations to Daniel Igyarto, who a couple of weeks ago was invited to join the ranks of the North End Traveling League and really begin to bowl in the big time. Dan carries an average of about 190. I understand that the Steve Balogs, that is the Junior, were also blessed with another child, but I haven't the details now. A little notice to all members whose premiums are due in May: Please do me a little favor by getting your payments in as soon as possible. The office will be closed on Saturday, May 25th, as I will be in Dayton, Ohio at the Bowling Tournament and Fellowship Days. Note to Steve Ivancso: I have not been able to find out who the gentleman was that you mentioned in your •article when Bob Nichols was here in Chicago. Look out, Steve. I hope to be very sharp for the Tournament. Last Saturday several of us bowled in Ted Tryba’s Individual Tournament and yours truly had one of his better nights — 844 over 4 games.
